Summer Sonics Vol. 3 is DONE. Yes, it is done! You can listen to it at this link!

Some information about it, if you were curious:

Summer Sonics is my R&D tape, which means that it's... kinda weird, and usually a bit unhinged. That's because I'm putting my efforts into things that aren't composition! Most of the effort went into sound design and, even more particularly, into interactive sound design. What that means is, every sound represented here had some kind of human input and subordinate reactivity to that human input. I did very little mouse-and-keyboard production in the composition phase, instead focusing on improvisational writing. My pen was my drum pad and keyboard. The paper was the midi roll! So, with these two tools I focused on using FX that reacted to how I touch these instruments, giving every piece of expression some kind of reactive component from human input. It's really fun!

Writing-wise, the point is to have a lot of fun making experimental sounds, so I hope you can hear my excitement and enjoyment bleeding through your sound system. That's the goal anyways, I just want to have a lot of fun and hopefully the music makes you have fun too! The other point is that I worked really hard on it! It's supposed to show off my skillz and experience, so I hope that it is a companion piece to you and your life, working hard at your dreams and your vision for this life!

So, overall, this project has left me feeling relatively good. I think it's rushed, a bit of a personal project more than a consumer project. It's more like a research diary, less like a fully fledged album pour la populi and whatever. But, it's done, it's fun, and it's a signal that there's a lot more cool music to be made!
